Computer analysis and synthesis are simplified by re-arranging equations (2) to (4) as non-dimensional parameters to derive procedures having general application. Then the equations of motion for a specific case are the product of the standard data and a factor defining the dimensions and speed of that mechanism, noting that only the cam rotation through one motion segment and the follower displacement are normalised.
