5. Select suitable gears by considering materials and cost

If the calculated maximum bending stresses are within the allowable bending stresses for the available materials in the catalogue then choose the most economic gears. If not, then choose stronger gears and repeat the calculations from the beginning (3. Choose the number of teeth, type and material for the gears).
