How to navigate in the guides
These on-line guides are organised as a tree of html pages. The SEED index page is the root of the tree and, where a page is an index, the tree branches. Clicking on a topic in an index, e.g. on 'How to navigate the guides' in the 'SEED index' takes you to the page that deals with that topic.

At the top right of most pages you will find two underlined arrows. Clicking the right arrow moves you to the next page in the current index (the SEED index for this page). Similarly, clicking the left arrow moves you to the previous page in the current index. Try it now! The first and last pages listed in an index have only one arrow because there is only one way to go. Once you have selected one topic from an index all the other topics in the index can be reached by using the arrows.

To the left of the arrows there is a list of links to every index used to reach that page. The current index is always next to the arrows. This list always shows your wherabouts in the guides and you can use it to navigate quickly to any other page. To try this now, click for example "Write a Product Design Specification" on the next page, then click "References" in the PDS index. Next to the arrow on the References page you can use links to the SEED index, the Guides index and the PDS index.

Use the facilities of your browser: e.g. the "Go Back" is often useful; the "Options" facility will allow you to hide the Toolbar, the Directory buttons and even the Page Location display so liberating valuable space. Most SEED guide pages are designed to fit on a 14" screen without scrolling so that you can see all the information at once.
