SEED Guides ShaftHub Connections Factors < >

5.2 Geometry
A critical factor can often be the shaft length between bearings, with minimum length being desirable. In such circumstances a connection should be chosen which fits within the width of the hub.

There can also be restrictions on the radial space occupied by the connection. Although the hub must be square with the shaft within fairly tight tolerances, in many applications this is only very occasionally the most critical factor in the choice of connection.
